Contact Lens Services
At Riverdale Vision Care, we strive to meet all your eye and vision care needs. After a comprehensive vision and eye health evaluation, our doctors will discuss the variety of contact lens options with you. He/She will select the type that best fits your vision needs and lifestyle while offering optimal comfort. If you are new to contacts, suffer from dry eyes, and/or have recurrent eye infections, our office is the right place for you.
Contact Lens Fitting
One size does not fit all when it comes to contact lenses. Your eye doctor will need to take some measurements to properly fit your contact lenses. Contact lenses that do not fit properly could cause discomfort, blurry vision or even damage the eye. During the contact lens exam, our doctor will measure the curvature of the eye to ensure that the contact lens properly fits the curve of your eye. Our doctor will also evaluate your tear film to make sure that you have a sufficient tear film to keep the lenses moist and comfortable.
Follow-up
Our eye doctor may request that you schedule a follow-up appointment to check that your contact lenses are fitting properly and that your eyes are adjusting properly. If you are experiencing discomfort or dryness in your eyes, our eye doctor may decide to try a different lens, a different contact lens disinfecting solution or to try an adjustment in your wearing schedule.
Routine Contact Lens Exams
Regardless of how often or how long you wear your contact lenses, your eyes should be examined at least once a year to make sure your eyes remain healthy and tolerant of contact lens wear.
